Not sure what you mean by "as of today". Some tests:


Machine 1 (Debian stable):

$ perl e
$VAR1 = 'xCOUCH';
$VAR2 = 'VAL';
$VAR1 = undef;
$VAR2 = 'VAL';

$ perl -v

This is perl 5, version 14, subversion 2 (v5.14.2) built for x86_64-linux-gnu-thread-multi
(with 80 registered patches, see perl -V for more detail)


Machine 2 (Maemo 5):

$ perl e
$VAR1 = 'xCOUCH';
$VAR2 = 'VAL';
$VAR1 = undef;
$VAR2 = 'VAL';

$ perl -v

This is perl, v5.8.3 built for arm-linux-gnueabi-thread-multi
