Yes, and no I've not experienced any issues. I don't really expect any
as the vast majority of the commits come from a stable upstream release.

Not to my knowledge. I can publish the built packages for amd64
somewhere temporarily and see if anyone can test them before they get
as far as stable-proposed-updates.
