[Pkg-ace-devel] OO orientation of ACE

Hi,

I was wondering about the design of some classes of ACE, WRT to the
object oriented paradigm: isn't it a bit a /bug/ that a class like
ACE_SOCK_Stream only provides methods that write or read a given number
of bytes, reading being to a char static buffer? Would it be possible to
use such classes with STL streams or strings instead?

I'm a very beginner with ACE, but as I'm a studying CS, I'm willing to
contribute to ACE if it is possible. If such a feature is not yet
implemented, but possible or, better, desired, I could try to dive into
ACE's code to add it.

Curiously,
