Package: alsa-base
Version: 1.0.5a-3
Severity: important

I used alsaconf to configure sound. The configuration worked, however
alsactl reported an error:

  ebbjw:/etc# alsactl restore
  alsactl: load_state:1134: No soundcards found...

When I use sound, alsa says that the sound cards are not present (and then
the sound plays as if everything was OK):

  alsa-init: no soundcards present: success

Also, I cannot use alsamixer:

alsamixer: function snd_ctl_open failed for default: No such device
