i have the same problem with 2.4.20, 2.4.21, 2.5.7*

when i load the maestro3 driver the machine freezes. it's a dell c600
laptop , a22 bios.

what information should i provide ?

I am closing bug reports against alsa-source that are more than one year
old and that relate to upstream aspects of the package.  The reports are
too old to be of any use now.
