[Pkg-alsa-devel] Bug#273090: alsa-utils: Module loader fails to load sound settings

Package: alsa-utils
Version: 1.0.6-2
Severity: normal

While hotplug runs on startup it fails on loading the module for my
SBLive! The error:

| modprobe: FATAL: Error running install command for snd_emu10k1
|
| snd-emu10k1: can't be loaded
| missing kernel or user mode driver snd-emu10k1

If I remove /etc/modprobe.d/sound created by alsaconf or if I load the
snd-emu10k1 manually with modprobe the module is loaded without a
problem. Strange: the module gets loaded anyhow. It appears as loaded in
lsmod's output and the mixer settings are loaded, too.

I had the idea to set the path in modprobe-post-install. But this is not
the problem.

| #!/bin/sh
| /usr/sbin/alsactl restore

Maybe a hotplug or udev problem?

Regards, Kai
