Here's a patch I knocked up to have timidity started by alsa-base's
init.d script if autostart_timidity is set to 'true'. It was actually
a proof of concept I tried to submit six months ago, but I think the
bug was eaten by my local mailer setup. (If not, and this is a
duplicate, then feel free to close/merge it.)

I recently discovered there's an alternative to timidity for this task,
but the name escapes me.

If this is felt to be a good thing to add to alsa-base, I'd be happy to
expand on the patch as neccessary.
