I had one friend whose sound card did not work because hotplug loaded 
the modem driver before the sound card driver, so I recommended that 
he add the snd_ prefix to the blacklist entry and now it works fine 
for him.  (I also remember someone complaining about the same problem 
on debian-user.)

So it seems some people are affected by this bug, but are not aware of 
its cause.  Whether or not it's an alsa-base bug, or a bug that would 
be more correctly handled somewhere else, though...  Do you know what 
the other distributions do?

(On my system, hotplug seems to load the sound card driver first.)
