[Pkg-alsa-devel] autoloading of module snd-hda-codec

Hi,

You may want to add the line

post-install snd-hda-codec /lib/alsa/modprobe-post-install snd-hda-codec

to /etc/modutils/alsa-base

The reason for this is the following:
I am the owner of a intel 915P motherboard with onboard CMI sound chip.
The sound works with the snd-azx module, but cracks and pops like you're
listening to a vinyl record.
Loading the snd-hda-codec resolves the problem. By the way, I was googling
around for this problem
for a long time and not many people seem to know about this, so I think you
would be helping a lot
of people by adding this line to the config.

I'm on debian sarge and currently running with
alsa-modules-2.4.27-2-686(but this applies to other versions
as well)

Greets,

--Walter

how much wood would a woodchuck chuck?
