I made a strace:
stat64("/source/alsa/svn-pkg-alsa/trunk/build-area/alsa-lib-1.0.11//share/alsa/alsa.conf",
0x7fe9ecb8) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)

alsamixer looks in my builddir for alsa.conf, which isn't there
really. Copying from /usr/share/alsa/alsa.conf to above mentioned
works.

Now I have to find out why libasound is looking inthe builddir,
ummpf.

Could one have a look too please?
