FWIW, I also started seeing this in my workplace's desktop probably
after a gstreamer update. However, this doesn't mean its necessarily a
gstreamer bug, it could be a bug now triggered in alsa-lib.

I asked upstream to clarify on what needs to be done about the patch in
the BTS, still got no reply; but there are a few positive comments
regarding it.

Let's see what Takeshi says.
