Plesae donn't configure your card with alsaconf!

Do as follows:

# dpkg --purge --force-all alsa-utils alsa-oss alsa-base libasound2 linux-sound-base

# apt-get install alsa-utils alsa-base libasound2

Enjoy sound without configuring the card with alsaconf. udev does
the trick for you.
