*Bug Description:*

I'm running Debian Lenny. After last safe-upgrade (yesterday), my system
sound volume became very low, almost inaudible, and I can't turn it up.
Even at alsamixer, de master volume appear at the bare minimum and I
can't change it.

Off course I have the PCM volume control at maximum, in my mixer_applet2
2.18.0 (volume control for gnome panel), but the actual sound volume is
almost inaudible.
