On Sat, 26 Apr 2008 the mental interface of
Peter De Wachter told:

> Package: libasound2
> Version: 1.0.16-1
> Severity: important
> With libasound2 1.0.16 many music players (e.g. mpg123-alsa, mpg321,
> ogg123) take a huge amount of CPU to play music.
> Playing a short song with mpg321, I get results like:
> real 2m32.276s
> user 0m25.310s
> sys 0m47.259s
> With libasound 1.0.15, it looks much more reasonable:
> real 2m32.188s
> user 0m2.212s
> sys 0m0.108s
> If there's anything I can do to help debug this, please ask.

Here is my test:
6,19s user 0,27s system 2% cpu 5:08,02 total, running mpg321 03-G3_Live_in_Denver-Joe_Satriani-Starry_Night.mp3
0,09s user 0,05s system 0% cpu 5:08,10 total, running mplayer 03-G3_Live_in_Denver-Joe_Satriani-Starry_Night.mp3

This points to mpg321, doesn't it?
