Yes, this may be related to pulseaudio. But I (as a user) can see this

I have no sound card except pulseaudio one. So, if i'll do that you
suggest I just get system without sound card at all and alsamixer would
not start. If i'll do this and install snd-dummy sound card alsamixer
will perform well and in expected way. All this is written in my previous post.

Mb alsamixer, mb libasound, mb libpulse, mb pulseserver, mb alsa on
server side. But I see regression in alsamixer - downgraded only
alsa-utils and alsamixer works well. Also I see that this is
reproducible.

Please remove unreproducible tag if you can reproduce this following my
instructions. Please change bug title to 'most of volume management keys
in alsamixer are not working with pulseaudio sink' to make it more
descriptive.
