[Pkg-alsa-devel] Bug#819159: Acknowledgement (alsa-utils: No automute control in mixer, when there damn well should be)

I've noticed another (subtler) difference between upstream and debian
kernels, with my audio setup.

With upstream kernels, playback of my .ogg files (all at the standard
samplerate of 44100 Hz, nominal bitrate 192k/s) takes around 5% CPU time
on one of the 4 cores, according to gkrellm. With debian kernels, this
jumps to 20-30%.

This together with the original issue makes me suspect that the ALSA
driver for this hardware in debian kernels is different from upstream.
But why should it be?
