I had a look in the wayback machine, and it's been like that since
September 2012!

And the last release looks like it was made 2011-11-11 - the two
together make me wonder if amule is in fact dead upstream.

If so, is it worth trying to keep it in Debian?  To do so, you're
essentially going to need to take over the work upstream would
normally do...
