Ah - I wasn't aware of that issue, just wanted a cleaner routine and 
believe find to be more reliable than ls.

Looking at that bugreport it seems, however, that the reason for putting 
default config last is a hack to not fail for systems where there are 
custom confitgs but no default one.  I.e. the exact thing that you now 
fixed properly by checking for existence of the default config.

Can you think of other reasons for preserving certain processing order?
