狢 have a Debian Squeeze server (amd64) on which it is running awstats.<br>

I've noticed that awstats statistics don't update using cron (but

manual update works fine).<br>

<p>Looking at "/etc/cron.<wbr>d/awstats" I see that awstats runs as

"www-data", but permissions on "/var/log/apache2" don't let "www-data"

read the file.</p>

<p>I think that one possible solution is to run the awstats cron job as

"root".<br>
