[Pkg-ayatana-devel] sound-indicator and ido

Hi all,

So I took a look at sound-indicator and its dependency ido.
Unfortunately, the work currently being done in Ubuntu Maverick
requires a patched version of gtk in order to build ido. Hopefully
this is something that they will eventually be able to upstream. I was
able to successfully build and test the versions of sound-indicator
and ido that are shipped in Ubuntu Lucid on unstable.

Of course, in the mean time we entered the freeze. So either way,
sound-indicator won't make it into the next release. Is it worth
preparing uploads of the Lucid versions for experimental? As Lucid is
a LTS, they are pushing fixes to that branch. There has already been a
point release. Any thoughts?

I also went ahead and started a wiki page to track the progress of
this effort: http://wiki.debian.org/AyatanaPackages

The chart doesn't contain all of the upstream Ayatana packages yet.
Feel free to add to it. Though, again as we've entered the freeze,
it's not really the best time to be pushing in new packages.

Thanks,

Andrew SB
