Well, true but... I also changed lots of build related stuff. If you
have a look at debian/rules you'll see that it's all dh7 stuff now. It
builds, and it seems to work for me, but I'd appreciate some testing. I
asked for that a few times on this list but never got replies. I,
personally, will not take responsibility for such changes without anyone
proof-reading it. bacula is too important to mess it up lightly.

Obviously, I'd like those changes to enter Debian. The current build
style is broken in so many ways, and with the changes I made, the build
time reduces from more than 20 minutes to 13 or somewhat, too. But, as I
said, not without proper double-checking. I'm almost sure that I messed
up some stuff.

Please note that at work we're slowly shuttind down bacula instances due
to infrstructural changes. I.e. I'm not sure how long I will be able to
work on this. I didn't see that coming. I would've said earlier if I
had. Sorry.

Not sure what you mean. I kept one logical change per commit and git-dch
simply created a proper debian/changelog entry from this. Manual editing
might be needed, obviously. If you don't like the git SHA1 in it, then
don't let git-dch include it. I find it handy but it's not a must. What
I dislike is commiting changelog entries with teh changes since that
makes merging branches basically a PITA.
Anyways, let's see what we can get out of what I did in those dev
branches...
