new version in Squeeze

Hello,

My BOINC Manager tells me en new version is available for BOINC (3.6.36) but 
in Debian Squeeze there is only at the moment the version I use (6.4.5)
What is the process for new version integration in squeeze, how long is it?
Is there a way to make the update from web site, without crashing debian 
installation?
Where ca I get a change log to evaluate if it is or not useful to upgrade to 
new version (available for 3 month now...)?
