[pkg-boost-devel] Bug#625684: should libboost-dev suggest: libboost-doc ?

Package: libboost-dev
Version: 1.46.1.1
Severity: normal

The versioned package libboost1.46-dev has a suggests dependency on
the corresponding documentation, libboost1.46-doc

The generic libboost-dev package depends on the latest versioned dev
package, but has no corresponding suggests dependency on the generic
doc package libboost-doc.

This causes an inconsistency and means the user may not notice where
the doc package is if they initiate the installation from the generic
package. Although libboost1.46-dev is pulled in automatically, for
instance by aptitude, the suggests: libboost1.46-doc inside it is ignored.

Should libboost-dev depend (Suggests:) on libboost-doc?

I think it would be helpful.

Thanks, Drew.
