I agree that it is ugly and I do understand your plight.  It's the
best I can offer at this moment.

Absolutely, this would be the best help in resolving the issue.  Issue
#653823 is the one tracking the transition status of boost-defaults.
It contains a list of the build failures, divided into categories.

"Known Fixes": it would be a great help to post a patch fixing the bug.

"Fix unknown": these need some deeper digging to find out what is the
root cause.

The third category is not related to boost.  These are also interesting,
but likely not going to hold up the boost-defaults transition.
