   Following updating from self-compiled cinnamon 2.2.9 to the debian repos
2.2.14-2 I found that the previously working battery management settings was no
longer reporting my batteries charge in it and the power applet was no longer
there. upower is version 0.99.0 and seems to be working fine. This is possibly
linked to upstream bug https://github.com/linuxmint/Cinnamon/issues/3068
