Perhaps one or more of you on this team who've worked longer with
Cinnamon could follow up on this bug, speaking for Cinnamon's
distinctiveness or at least making a compelling case for being included
in those desktops which are displayed in the list of tasks.

lxde is also not displayed. I have not figured out where the dividing
line should be, or really what the criteria should be for a desktop task
to be displayed.

One way might be to decide if a given DE is fundamentally different than
the others in some way, and if not, only include one of a set that share
common characteristics. So, maybe only gnome and not cinnamon since it's
a rather near cousin (AFIACS). Or only xfce and not lxde since both are
fairly light desktops.

Another way could be to look at popcon trends, although cinnamon is too
recently packaged to be able to tell if it will have many users in
debian.
