<p>I've posted on a ticket related to this issue on the official Cinnamon Desktop Github repository, and it has been resolved. Version 2.8.4 should take care of the battery status icon problem.</p>

<p>Is there a chance we could get version 2.8.4 uploaded onto Sid/Stretch to confirm this?</p>
