I learned to love git cherry-pick last night; just run git log on your Ubuntu
branch, checkout whichever branch you prefer to start from, run git merge
origin/debian/unstable (unless this is what you checked out anyway), and then
run git cherry-pick for each of the commits you'd like to see in your new branch
as well. Correct me if this is not so sane as I thought it was.
