trunk/tarballs/ is the place where the .orig.tar.gz tarballs are stored
if you're not overwriting svn-bp:origDir somehow.  While
trunk/build-area/ is where svn-buildpackage will build the package.
Both directories are not created on the fly, hence I'd prefer to check
them in.
