i just saw bug #290324 (http://bugs.debian.org/290324). it contains a
patch for mount by wesley terpstra, which adds cryptsetup support.
wesley provides patched util-linux packages (bsdutils, util-linux,
fdisk-udeb, util-linux-locales, mount) at http://terpstra.ca/debian

i didn't check the patch, but wesley mentions in the bugreport, that he
didn't link mount against cryptsetup but rather uses /sbin/cryptsetup,
and warns if it is not available.

maybe it is worth a try, and the discussion with mount upstream/debian
maintainer can be continued.
