Hi, 

find `uname -r && lsmod` under bootable kernel attached. Under non-bootable 
kernel, I can't get any prompt after 6 failed tries (it says that max number 
of tries is reached but does not give me any prompt...)

It seems exactly the problem you are pointing (and thus it is not a bug of 
cryptsetup but of 2.6.25-rc2).
