Ok, per upstream's response I've input the IPv6 network in brackets and it
works without parse errors, thanks.

The failure to correctly map IPv6 addresses to *.dodds.net is still a
problem, though.  As mentioned in the original report, the relevant DNS
records are not only set, they're also public for anyone to review or test
with as needed.
