[Pkg-cups-devel] Bug#488615: cupsys: Memory Leak in cupsd

Package: cupsys
Version: 1.2.7-4etch3
Severity: normal

The cupsd process is leaking memory. It is not a major problem on a
server with plenty of memory, but on a fairly busy print server with
aproximately 60 users it loses about 2 MB daily. The server is
monitored with jffnms so it's quite obvious that the process is eating
memory that is not released until a process restart.

I can add that most if not all print jobs are raw - ie. they come from
Windows clients through Samba and are already formatted for the intented
printer. All printers attached using network sockets so in this case
Cups is merely acting as a spooler.
