It is not, launchpad is merely an UI for managing those branches, and
loggerhead is free. However, I do see the potential political problems
here. So how about I store the branch on bzr.debian.org, and merely
have launchpad.net mirror the branch, so that we can still use
loggerhead for browsing, but use bzr.debian.org as the definitive
branch location?

In the meantime I keep the bzr branches on my local disk, until I can
upload them to bzr.d.o.
