OK, that would explain why you get asked for the password.

Anyhow, we intentionally added a "-h localhost" option to every
'lpstat' and 'lpadmin" instance in the maintainer scripts of all
CUPS-related packages that were uploaded over the past 24 hours.
Please check whether that solves it for you and let us know if it
doesn't.
