Further analysis shows that this happens while compiling the package
cups-ppdc which hasn't been part of cups1.3. However, similar code
existed there in cupsddk, however without genstrings. Taking a further
look this code was only very shortliving there. Also, cups-ppdc is
only suggested by cups (and depended-on only by cupsddk which has been
replaced by it).

For this reason, I suggest dropping cups-ppdc on mips* until proper
porting happens.
