[Pkg-cups-devel] Bug#674538: cups: ipp backend blocks after powercycling printer

Package: cups
Version: 1.4.4-7+squeeze1
Severity: normal
If a printer needs a powercycle for whatever reason while a job is busy
(e.g. if toner needs replacing), then the ipp will wait until eternity
for the printer to ack its last request on the ipp tcp connection.
Enabling tcp keepalive on the connection would cause the printer to
reset the connection after some time, giving ipp a hint that the
connection is broken.
I currently have to abort the job, pause the printer, and re-enable the
printer for other jobs to resume printing, which is a bother.
