+1 for quilt
-1 for git (though I actually don't think I've much to say about that,
but I never liked git at all)

Actually, as much as I like the idea of DVCSs (especially the ability to
work while not connected to the network that contains the "master"
repository, whatever that might be), there is one thing I don't like
about them: The non-existance of a true master repository, by which I
mean the enforcement that all changes from any member must go through
the master to be available to others. I know perfectly well that this
can still be done by defining (and following it willfully) a policy for
this.

Anyhow: I wouldn't mind mercurial as much as I would mind git.
