I would think the time to do this would be more a function of how many
users are keeping mail in the mail-store than of the amount of spaced
used, given that there are a lot of per-user dbs.

TL;DR version: A bunch of users without much mail might be slower than a
few users with a ton of mail, regardless of how much disk space is consumed.
