As I have some good knowledge of Debian packaging, I have started
rolling out my out 2.3 packages for my customer, based on your lastest
2.2 version.<br>
<br>
I will gladly contribute back my changes, but what I am doing is more
of a quick hack than a high quality debian package with an upgrade path
from 2.2 version (for example). I'll send you a source package +
comments on my changes when I have something useable.<br>

No, please see the discussion in bug #382376. Please also note that we
would highly welcome someone in the team who is willing to start working
on the 2.3 packages. We would help where we can, but currently neither
of us has the time to do the work needed to create the initial 2.3 packages.
