Hello,
I think the point Roberto was trying to make was that it would be less
work to have 2.1.22 (i.e. newest latest upstream) with unpolished
Debian packaging in etch than shipping the ancient
2.1.19+loadsofpatches. The former will be a lot easier to handle with
respect to security updates.
