Bug#462958: sasl2-bin: saslauthd reporting 'size read failed' when auth request performed

Package: sasl2-bin
Version: 2.1.22.dfsg1-16
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

root at system:~# testsaslauthd -u <username> -p <password> -f /var/spool/postfix/var/runn/saslauthd/mux
size read failed
0:

saslauthd was working correctly up until yesterday, at which time I
performed a upgrade of all system packages. It appears that any form of
attempted authentication (whether valid or invalid) cannot be completed
by Cyrus' saslauthd.

Thanks very much for your attention to this!
