err... sorry taking so long to reply, but it got down in my inbox and
I forgot. You've sent the patch while I was on my honey moon, you can
imagine the size of my inbox after 1 month out :-)

bad news is: setuptools no more, you patch does not apply
good news is: setuptools no more, your patch is not required

rasterman was trying to get python-efl compiled on his machine and
failing like  baby that never used linux before... so I was trying to
fix by enabling "easy_install" and it was then super-complicated to
unpatch the classes that were already patched by setuptools and
distutils when pyrex was not found... after wasting hours to figure
out the problem and solving it, the setup.py was so big and hacky that
autoconf/automake was making more sense... so it is now in use, with
all foo-protection I could do.

Please update your packages to use cdbs/autoconf! :-)
