I had posted this in December:

Hello,

FWIW I have got some reasonably working packages of up to date e-stuff
(efl_1.12.2, e17_0.19.1, elementary_1.12.2 and evas-loaders_1.12.0).
They are not ready for upload (most notably debian/copyright is not
updated), but they build, and enlightenment runs. No heavy testing,
though, I just wanted to have a look how current enlightenment feels.

This was an upgrade of the Debian packaging, i.e. libraries properly
separated, using GnuTLS, running the testsuite when possible, etc.

Having given E a short run I am now back at windowmaker, though.
