Well, I wasn't able to replicate his bug with my 0.10.0 package. I have a
feeling that the bug is a bigger issue upstream, where some distros are getting
themselves in a state where they don't want to give the user permission to
write to the pid file.
How do you feel about closing the bug with the upstream release, with the
understanding that it may be re-opened? I could throw a comment to the bug if

haha Good to know. I'll join on if only to keep supporting couchdb and to give
myself more of a reason to learn erlang.
