[Pkg-erlang-devel] Packaging Alice, a RESTfull interface to RabbitMQ written in erlang

¡Hola!

I want to package Alice: http://willcodeforfoo.com/2009/07/13/announcing-alice/

Upstream has not yet released a tarball, and they are using Git. I
also saw recently that debian is now accepting git format
sourcepackages. I smell an opportunity to learn something new! I've
emailed the Alice list asking about a tarball release, but so far no
response, so I don't really want to block on that.

Any thoughts on the best way to handle this? Is there a standard way
to version package that is based on a got snapshot? Also, is it a good
idea to try and use the gut sourcepackage format? Any other
suggestions or recommendations that would make it easier to review and
sponsor the new package?

I have not yet filed or checked for an ITP in the Debian BTS, I'll do
that tomorrow.

Are there any other hot Erlang apps that should be packaged for Debian?
