gtkdoc-scanobj generates a C source file, builds it, and runs it to
introspect some objects of the API. Sometimes this segfaults or dies
for other reasons (either the compiler or the scanner program itself),
 here it's the scanner.

I've uploaded a gtk-doc-tools patched to run the scanner in a subshell,
this should at least display "segfault blahblah", could you try a build
with this gtk-doc-tools? If it turns out to be a segv, could you
 please attach a backtrace? Thanks!
