Hmmh, I fail to reproduce here. I've configured the “auto mark as read”
delay to 0 so the mail is marked as read as soon as I open it.
The search folder is configured using “Status is not read”.

Is that the way you do that, or is there any other way?

here, with the config above (which may not be fine anyway), the mails
stay in the search folder as long as I stay in it. When I quit the
search folder, then re-enter it, the mails are “gone”.
