Yes, you are approved but you need to be able to ssh to the box. Don't
forget to use your alioth username (with -guest). And you have to wait
some time (don't remember how much) before the key you submitted to the
web interface is added to your authorized_keys.

Basically we use svn-buildpackage, with the debian/ folders having
MergeWithUpstream property.
