Arg, I wanted the full -ls output (not sure how you managed to get that,
since -lr presumably doesn't exist :/). Seems that it was indeed a
permission problem.

David: would it make sense to try fixing permissions in case they're
considered wrong by NSS and thus it won't open the db?
